Spring Clean Your Commitments by Cindy Rushton
April 6, 2010
Hello Sweet Friend!
What does your calendar look like? Is it just too busy? Want to change things, but have no idea what COULD go? Is it time to prune?
There is something about spring that requires that we cut out the extras and gear up the things that really matter. If we don’t, there are ramifications. We get…
Tired
Weary
Stressed out
Pushed to our limits
Pulled in too many directions
Edgy
Snippy
Irritable
OK…angry and downright bitter.
Relate?
It is time to spring clean our commitments. It is time to look at all that we have on our calendar and really evaluate Read more

Declutter TODAY by Cindy Rushton
January 8, 2010
There is something this time of the year that actually compels me to reorganize, declutter, and clean. No other season does it quite the same!
This is actually the time of year that we clean up from the holiday whirlwind and gear up for another super year. Are you doing the same thing? Well, let’s work together by first decluttering and then getting our house in order bit-by-bit. Then, we will be ready to dig into our New Year full-force!
So, want to declutter? Let me help!
First, KNOW THAT YOU CAN’T CLEAN OR ORGANIZE CLUTTER. This is so essential. Ever get frustrated by cleaning and organizing to only look up and find that everything still looks messy? That frustrates me. If I will sit back and look, the problem is that clutter is always messy. It can’t be cleaned up or organized. It has to be attacked. It has to go. Read more

Want to Reach Your Goals? Write them DOWN!
July 25, 2009
Want to reach your goals? There is a big secret!
What is a goal? It is more than a wish for something better. In fact, it is a declaration of what needs to change in one’s life. As a declaration, goals are written down.
Why is it so important to write down goals? The first and most common sense reason is that we will forget them. Plenty of us have minds like steel sieves. Writing down our goals is like putting rocks in with all that sand. Rocks are too big to go through the sieve so they stay. Read more
Don’t Set Yourself Up to Fail
April 24, 2009

You will not find out how to fail here. Instead you will learn why you sometimes do fail. Unconsciously we sabotage our own efforts but you can consciously make choices to keep failure at bay in your personal goals.
Failure is not fatal but it can be avoided when you take the necessary steps to ensure your success. Here are a few pitfalls to navigate around.
1. Have a plan - Winging it doesn’t always work. In fact, if you are serious about your goals winging it is never a good idea. Map out a strategy for getting your goals met. Now, just because you write it down doesn’t mean it is set in stone. Plans change but without one, you never really know where you are going or will end up.
2. Set deadlines that you can meet - The point of setting a goal is to achieve it. The goal itself might not be easy but it can be realized if you break it down into steps. Unrealistic timelines Read more
Overcoming Obstacles
April 20, 2009
One thing that is inevitable when it comes to goals is obstacles. We all experience them at one time or another. Overcoming obstacles is the key if we want to see our goals through to the finish.
What are some of the typical obstacles when it comes to goal setting? First there’s fear. We suddenly get a chill when we think about starting our own business or training to run a marathon.
Next, there’s procrastination. Everybody knows what that is. Remember Wimpey’s favorite saying in the Popeye cartoon? “I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.” You put off what you could do today because there is always tomorrow. Unfortunately, you know that tomorrow never comes if you are a procrastinator.

Secrets to Productivity: WRITE IT DOWN!
March 11, 2009
What do you want for this year? Think for a moment with me… Next year, this time, what do you want to see different in your life? What would you like to see finished? What would you like to see accomplished this year?
Dear friend, this year is the year of fullness. I have committed to make this year a year of commitment, accomplishment, and productivity. Want to make this year the very best ever too? Let’s find some keys to productivity. Let’s dig in and get moving strong. Ready? Well, today let’s look at one of my biggest keys to productivity…
Take time to write EVERYTHING down!
Talk about a key to productivity! If there were one thing that I really believe makes the difference in my own productivity, it is this one discipline. I know, I know what you may be thinking… Read more
Reduce Your Stress in Fifteen Minutes or Less
February 20, 2009

Stress is no stranger to the average mom. Day in and day out it tries to enter our lives through busy schedules, a messy home, and screaming children. Here are a few ways that moms can reduce their stress levels fast. Give them a try. Let’s dig in…
Remember that commercial for Calgon bath soap? Calgon would seem to whisk women everywhere off to exotic locales. Too bad that that can’t actually happen—or can it? Turn on some pleasant music. Climb into a nice hot tub. Just close your eyes and let the world go on for a bit!
Do you own an mp3 player? If not, get one. You can load music, videos, and pictures on them. Mine is full of praise and worship songs…good, solid Bible teachings…and even love songs (we have all of them on our iPods–FUN!). Stressed? Put on your headset, turn on your favorite songs, and destress! Read more
Got Goals? WRITE THEM DOWN!
January 25, 2009

What is a goal? It is more than a wish for something better. In fact, it is a declaration of what needs to change in one’s life. As a declaration, goals are written down.
Why is it so important to write down goals? The first and most common sense reason is that we will forget them. Plenty of us have minds like steel sieves. Writing down our goals is like putting rocks in with all that sand. Rocks are too big to go through the sieve so they stay.
Writing down goals is not like New Year’s resolutions. New Year’s resolutions are vague for the most part. They are general ideas of things we would like to accomplish that are initiated to get into the spirit of the season. We want our goals to be more concrete and lasting than that.
