Spring Clean Your Commitments by Cindy Rushton
April 6, 2010
Hello Sweet Friend!
What does your calendar look like? Is it just too busy? Want to change things, but have no idea what COULD go? Is it time to prune?
There is something about spring that requires that we cut out the extras and gear up the things that really matter. If we don’t, there are ramifications. We get…
Tired
Weary
Stressed out
Pushed to our limits
Pulled in too many directions
Edgy
Snippy
Irritable
OK…angry and downright bitter.
Relate?
It is time to spring clean our commitments. It is time to look at all that we have on our calendar and really evaluate Read more
Time to Spring Clean!!!
March 21, 2010
Have you looked at the calendar? Do you know what Saturday was? Yep! The first day of spring! I am soooo ready for spring this year. It has been so damp, gloomy, cold this year. I am ready for some sunshine, fresh air, and nicer temperatures. Believe it or not, I am even ready to spring clean this year. So ready that I have already been spring cleaning EVERYTHING!
Want to join me? Super!
Over the next few weeks, we are going to look at several different areas of our lives that need to be “cleaned out” so we can have the best year ever. I really want for you to dig in and do the hard work WITH ME so we can spring clean our lives together.

Declutter TODAY by Cindy Rushton
January 8, 2010
There is something this time of the year that actually compels me to reorganize, declutter, and clean. No other season does it quite the same!
This is actually the time of year that we clean up from the holiday whirlwind and gear up for another super year. Are you doing the same thing? Well, let’s work together by first decluttering and then getting our house in order bit-by-bit. Then, we will be ready to dig into our New Year full-force!
So, want to declutter? Let me help!
First, KNOW THAT YOU CAN’T CLEAN OR ORGANIZE CLUTTER. This is so essential. Ever get frustrated by cleaning and organizing to only look up and find that everything still looks messy? That frustrates me. If I will sit back and look, the problem is that clutter is always messy. It can’t be cleaned up or organized. It has to be attacked. It has to go. Read more
Reasons or Excuses????
November 23, 2009
Just 11 short months ago I was a completely different person. All it took for me to find the change that I really needed was for me to face the truth–I was where I was mostly because of my simple excuses.
Oh! I did not call it that. Nope! I called it my “reasons” for being where I was and not where I really wanted to be. You see, I was over 100 pounds overweight. Boy, did I have my “reasons” for being there…
1. No time.
2. Too much going on.
3. Didn’t feel good.
4. Too much to do each day.
5. Didn’t want to put so much effort into losing weight only to gain it back.
6. Didn’t know where to begin.
7. It hurt.
8. Bombed already so this won’t matter…
9. I am recovering from an injury so I can’t do anything.
10. HAROLD…or MY MOM…or MY KIDS…or MY SCHEDULE…
Learn from the Deer Hunter by Cindy Rushton
November 2, 2009
I just had a very interesting “chat” with my sweetheart. There are times that I just sit back in awe of his wisdom. It changes my life.
Today, we were talking about how different men and women are. We, women, could learn a lot about balance by studying men, especially the deer hunters!
Wonder where I am going with this one? Stick with me!
Here in the South something happens every year to multitudes of men. They disappear! Don’t worry. They DO come back. But, you can set your calendar by them.
Those who are married to them know what I mean without me writing it. All I have to say is “deer hunter” and they know what to expect with these guys, especially as the seasons turn.
So, why do I say, “Learn from the deer hunter?” Read more

Don’t Set Yourself Up to Fail
April 24, 2009

You will not find out how to fail here. Instead you will learn why you sometimes do fail. Unconsciously we sabotage our own efforts but you can consciously make choices to keep failure at bay in your personal goals.
Failure is not fatal but it can be avoided when you take the necessary steps to ensure your success. Here are a few pitfalls to navigate around.
1. Have a plan - Winging it doesn’t always work. In fact, if you are serious about your goals winging it is never a good idea. Map out a strategy for getting your goals met. Now, just because you write it down doesn’t mean it is set in stone. Plans change but without one, you never really know where you are going or will end up.
2. Set deadlines that you can meet - The point of setting a goal is to achieve it. The goal itself might not be easy but it can be realized if you break it down into steps. Unrealistic timelines Read more
How to Achieve Your Goals this Year
January 14, 2009
Almost all of us have goals in life we’d like to reach, but many of us fail to see them through because we lack the knowledge to get started in making them reality. In this article we will discuss how to take action towards getting those goals out of your head and into the world of reality.
How about step-by-step instructions to help you create goals and the actions needed to complete them. By following this plan, you’ll be more apt to succeed at meeting your goals in life, no matter what they may be.
1. Write it down. Many dreams are forgotten because we neglect to put it on paper. One day we’ll say, “Oh, yeah, I wanted to do that when I was young.” No one says that you have to pursue all of the goals that are listed on the paper, but if you do choose to work towards it, you’ll remember what it was in the first place. One effective way to do this is Read more
Routines: Your Secret to Getting Organized!
January 8, 2009
Apparently Americans are an unorganized lot because there’s a lot of talk, both online and offline, about how to get organized. You’ll find magazines with featured articles about it and television shows devoted to nothing but organizing your home. If you listen to many of these sources, you’ll find that one of the easiest ways to get organized is with a daily routine.
What is a daily routine and how can it help you get organized? A routine is another word for a habit. It’s something you’ve done much the same way for so long that you don’t even have to think about it anymore. You can easily create a routine for getting organized. Routines are the key to getting and staying organized. Let’s look at routines and see how they can be used to get (and KEEP!) your home organized.

This Year Start Little, See Big Results
January 7, 2009
House cleaning. Let’s face it. It’s a necessary evil if you want your home to be liveable and pleasant to be in. You want to be able to have guests and that may not be possible if your house is always a mess. When it comes to cleaning, you don’t have to deep clean every day. You can start little and see big results in no time.
One of the easiest ways to start small and get something accomplished is to work while you’re watching television. Commercials take two to five minutes every fifteen minutes of a television show. Why not take that time and go through stacks of mail, fold a load of laundry, clean out a desk drawer, or wash a few dishes. If you do this during each commercial break, you can see big results in just one evening of watching your favorite television shows. Read more
