Wondering what Mommy Homework is??? Each week you will have an “assignment” here to share in our comments here on this site. You will love this-both sharing AND enjoying answers by others. Some of them, I compile into an ebook (contributors can resell as a product of their own–be sure to submit your email and full name when you register so I can credit you appropriately!).
The result is AWESOME!
We get to know each other…we are encouraged in our journey…and we glean super ideas from other great moms!
Ready for this week’s MH? This is going to be a fun one!
I remember when I got my first iPod. It was my reward for a lot of hard work paying off my debts. What a treat! It immediately changed sooo many things. My chores, even dishes, were not so bad to do–I had a “companion” all along the way. My errands were not so bad anymore, those long commutes were just perfect to have a quick lesson or listen in to a podcast. And, I even had an incentive to get outdoors exercising–I could strap on my headset and learn while I exercised. I loved it! I still cannot imagine what I would do without it.
Have you got an iPod? You KNOW what I am talking about! 🙂 The next best thing to having an iPod is sharing ideas with friends for treasures to add to them. Sooooo…this week, why don’t we share what is on our iPods? If it is a CD, share it. If it is a podcast, share where we can find it. I think that this will be fun! DIG IN!
I cannot wait to see these ideas. Jump in. Share your ideas. And, don’t miss checking back to get super ideas from your mommy pals here. Have fun! DIG IN!
Love ya!
Cindy

Deadline–Friday at midnight CST.
I don’t have an iPod (yet) – but right now my mp3 player is loaded up with 2 months of the Talk A Latte Mommy Club audios. I’ve been listening to the Re-Charge sessions, and will move into the Called & Equipped to Minister audios. I think I’m getting an iTouch this summer (yay!) and then I can load up all of my Cindy Rushton audios and my favorite CD collection: Integrity’s iWorship Connect – which is a collection of favorite praise & worship songs by the likes of Lincoln Brewster, Kari Jobe, Hillsong, etc. My girls LOVE these CDs and we sing at the top of our lungs when we listen to them together.
I love my iPod! 🙂 My favorite things so far are my UHSE lectures. I listen when I’m driving. I have a cassette thing that uses the car speakers. I listen at the gym. Then I don’t have to listen to the music they are playing. I also have music of all types. It is wonderful. I like being able to buy 1 song at a time off iTunes.

I would LOVE an iPod, but I do not have one! (YET! One day…) But, on the other hand, I do have a LG Touch phone and I love it! It has a calendar WITH an alarm so that I am not late to our appointments (not to mention that when I am somewhere I have my calendar with me!!!), I also have music on it (lots of praise and worship as well as the music to a song I may be singing in church coming up, so then I can still practice it in my mind) and I plan on downloading some of the events from this past weeks’ UHSE on there to listen to while we are out and about! Like at the park, McDonald’s, an appointment, or anywhere I have a few minutes to listen and to be encouraged! This was my first one (UHSE), so I was so excited and I feel so blessed to have been a part of this wonderful week! Also, just for those moments when I really don’t want to do anything I can play one of those games-yes, I admit it, I’m a game junkie! We are always playing board games, card games, and the Wii at home! Another thing I love about my phone is that I now have FaceBook on it… That could be bad, but nice when we’re out of town or on the road. I can let everyone know where we’re at or what we’re doing (even if, by chance, they don’t want to know. Guess they can delete me, huh?!) Lastly, I love my email. I am able to send a quick love note to my husband or even a grocery list (he LOVES the grocery list-NOT). It helps us save money as a family, though.
My MP3 players doesn’t have much on it.
I have Cindy’s Virtuous Woman Audios, and a few of her marriage audios.
There are some Spanish and English songs.
I haven’t used it in a long time, I need to be able to hear the kids (they have been getting into trouble alot this year) so I can’t have those earbuds in my ears.
There are audio books on it for the kids to listen to.
I’m looking forward to what the other ladies here have.
I like listening to seminars (such as Cindy’s ;- ) when I drive, so my son found me the cord that was needed to hook up the iPod to the car stereo and now I can listen to many more than I could before. I like SM Davis and I had 100 of his sermons as MP3 files, but could only listen to them at home. Not anymore! Charles Stanley has MANY free downloadable sermons. My husband and kids enjoy those. I also have the past two years worth of our Virginia Homeschool convention (HEAV) as MP3 files. It seems there is never enough time inside to listen to these. At least not uninterrupted time! I try to be fair and listen to books on tape with the kids, too, but when we drive at night or we are driving at naptime (four of my ungraduated five are under six), I put on one of those sermons or seminars and enjoy.
I also like hymns a lot. I especially like the ones redone by contemporary groups such as Selah and Avalon. Those are great for praise and Worship. When I want to get moving, I listen to songs from Rebecca St. James’ Worship God cd. Other music I like that is non-Christian, are selections from Michael Buble, Rod Stewart (his oldies ones), and Josh Groban. I have recently started compiling a list of country tunes with a Christian theme such as Three Wooden Crosses and What I Like About Sundays that I want to eventually get on there. I can’t wait to read what everyone else likes…Have a fantastic week.
Since I don’t have an iPod I will tell you what is on my other player pieces… My Nook has 2 sampler albums from Amazon so I can listen to music while reading some of the wonderful goodies I downloaded from UHSE 2010. I have 2 thumb drives I can put in my car stereo and right now 1 is empty waiting for UHSE 2010 to move to it and the other has a mix of talks for UHSE 2008, Felice and Cindy’s wonderful Creation Science class (the boys like to listen to it), and some other inspirational talks and stories.
I am in transition on a player for my computer as I use a Linux machine, once I find the new player I will be downloading the rest of UHSE2010 as well as Mommy Club stuff.
We have a family mp3, but I’m hoping to get a ipod. It will be use for my son’s music therapy. I’m also planning to have UHSE, Nancy Rolinger (rolinger.org) on it, and maybe some books-I have this yen for American history lately!
Alas, I don’t have an iPod either. I do have a (an?) mp3 though. I change the contents of it often.
I listen to an audio version of the scriptures. Right now I’m listening my way through the Old Testament again (am currently in 2 Chronicles). Loving it! 🙂
I also have on there some inspirational Christian music from various artists including Kenneth Cope. I have a couple pieces from George Gershwin as I was helping some Webelo scouts with their Showman pin for Cub Scouts. I also have some pieces by John Williams (cub scouts again).
I listen to homeschoolradioshows.com free shows. Love them as well.
I’ve been listening to (and relistening to many times over) Cindy’s “Procrastination Attack”! It has caused a few “ahhhh haaaa” moments for me! I love the light that comes on when I finally “get it” with anything that’s been right in front of me for so long!
I also have Celine Dion’s “I’m Alive” on there. It came with the mp3 player, but it has been awesome to keep me going on those days where I don’t feel well.
I listen to lectures that are in an mp3 format. I love learning!
And lastly, I listen to audio books, mainly classics.
Librivox.org, archive.org, http://etc.usf.edu/lit2go/title/titles.html, http://www.dorioakes.bravehost.com/mp3.html (gives a bunch of links), all have audios that can be downloaded.
I can’t wait until I can purchase the UHSE stuff to listen to as well! 🙂
That’s my mp3 player!
Thank you Cindy for your diligence and willingness to help us fellow homeschoolers out! Thank you everyone else for sharing! 🙂

My iPod has Cindy Rushton on it!! Surprise!!! 🙂 I have Marriage 911; UWE2010; UHSE2010; Mommy Club; Gospel Music and some Roy Rogers and Roy Rogers Jr music. I enjoy listening to the Ultimate workshops over and over because I always learn something new that I didn’t remember hearing before.
I do change what is on my iPod from time to time but that is what is on it for now.

What is on my IPod?
Really there is nothing because I have a MP3 player. 🙂 My husband got my MP3 player last year just so I could listen over and over to the Women’s Expo and the UHSE 2009.
All I plan to us it for are the messages from Cindy or ones connected with her. Right now I am behind and need to get time to down load the latest things out. Like I still need to get the UHSE for 2010 and listen, especially to the ones I missed.
All of this technology is beyond me but thanks to my daughter Lois she is teaching me how to use all these things and now I am able to hear over and over the great messages.
So what’s on my MP3 – Cindy and her friends.
Nancy Lewis
Cindy, Cindy, and more Cindy! I also have a variety of speakers from the women’s expos and UHSE on my mp3 player.
Oops, I hit the submit button to soon.
I love listening to Cindy and the expos! They are motivating and inspiring. Listening to them makes dull and boring task go by much faster. My children also enjoy listening. To listen together we hook it to a speaker or bring it with us in the car.
Listening to Cindy’s and the other expo speakers sessions is a great way to feed our minds with good things and help build our relationship with the Lord.
I know I am late, but I thought I would respond anyway.
I have been loading up my mp3 player with seminars on emotional healing. I listen to these while I am mowing.
I also am loading up children’s praise and worship b/c there is a new ministry at church and I have to decide which songs we will use for it.
In the past, I have had Cindy’s seminars, other teachings and songs that minister to me.

I’ve just got a mp3 player for now (but saving up for an ipod touch!) I have audios from previous UHSE sessions on it as well as some free audios. So excited to have another year’s worth of sessions to upload for listening. I probably have enough sessions that haven’t been listed to from 2009 and now this year’s sessions to download which means no lack of material to motivate and educate!
Every so often I’ll notice free mp3 files on Amazon and snag them. I’ve got an awesome blues sampler that I got there plus a ton of great Christmas music for when it’s the Christmas season. Sometimes the songs are great, other times not so much. But, when the price tag is free I don’t have any complaints.
I’ve also found free audio books and old radio shows online (e.g. through Homeschool Freebie of the Day) that occasionally make it to my mp3 player for me to listen. With the recent acquisition of the cassette hookup for listening in the car, I plan to upload more of those for listening with the boys in the car.
Now I need to figure out how to transfer songs from favorite CDs to have on the mp3 player. It’s my companion when exercising IF there isn’t a friend next to me for great conversation.

I don’t have an iPod. I have considered it, but was not exactly sure how I would use it. I look forward to reading the ways that the ladies use theirs.
