Wondering what Mommy Homework is??? Each week you will have an “assignment” here to share in our comments here on this site. You will love this-both sharing AND enjoying answers by others. Some of them, I compile into an ebook (contributors can resell as a product of their own–be sure to submit your email and full name when you register so I can credit you appropriately!).
The result is AWESOME!
We get to know each other…we are encouraged in our journey…and we glean super ideas from other great moms!
Ready for this week’s MH? This is going to be a good one!
Habakkuk 2: 2-3 tells us the importance of vision. Not just “seeing” it but writing it down. Recently, I posted a new lesson for our Marriage 911 Flight Plans (If you are not a member, check them out! Talk about a super study!). In that session, we cover the need for vision in your marriage. I also shared a challenge to take time to get God’s vision, write it down, and get ready to run with it.
Well, today, this would be a super topic for our Mommy Homework! Ready to dig in? Here are your questions:
- What do you WANT? What do you really want from your marriage? Family life? Can you “see” it?
- Write out your dream? What do you want to SEE? What do you want to live?
- What do you want to keep out of your marriage?
- What do you want to see in your marriage as you–marry, pursue your plans and dreams, have children, train up your children, let go of your children as they grow up, welcome grandchildren, grow old together? SEE IT! Write the vision!
- Evaluate–how does your vision match up to reality? Is THIS what you want to remember? Is THIS what you want for your children to remember? Are you getting where you want to be? If so dream bigger! If not, today is the day to recommit to the call. Decide today what you really want. Write it down. Keep it before you. Run toward it!
Have fun! DIG IN!
Love ya!
Cindy

Cindy, this topic sounded quite simple at the first of the week, but today I am finding difficulty putting down my vision compared to “dream.” So this has really touched me about being content and pressing toward a vision instead of trying to reach that “dream” of the ideal life, lifestyle, family, homeschool, or ministry. My vision for homeschool: have fun, make memories, teach as much “bookwork” as I must and then read together, play, and work on notebooks & lapbooks (as my children have done all evening!).
My vision for home and family is for a closer walk with the Lord, by spending more quiet time with Him and seeking His will in our life and family.
My vision for our children: Christian adults, sold out to the Lord !
thanks, Tina K
My biggest want for my family is that, as a family, we glorify Jesus Christ. Of course, that encompasses all of the relationships: husband & wife, mom and kids, etc. That I might raise my children to crave a relationship with Jesus. I want to actually be a helpmeet to my husband. Makes me rely on the Holy Spirit in my life. 🙂 I really want to keep my critical spirit and babbling mouth out of our marriage.
I want to teach my children to be as fascinated by God’s amazing world as I am. To love learning as a way of life.
For me, I would love to go back to college some day. I want to develop Heritage Farms into a business that shows cows, chickens and family farming as a way of life.
I want to be able to rest in the Lord as I pursue my dreams.

To make it through today is the one that is most current on my mind most often, im ashamed to say. Although on a deeper level, peace, simple peace. I figure if we’re at peace then we are probably doing what we should be doing and praising God.
