A Mom Word About These Uncertain Days….

A mom word this morning…

Romans 13:1-7 13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. 6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

We have several generations in our country who do not understand honor and authority or how to follow and honor leadership.

For generations we have seen more and more leaving God’s way and the Biblical Worldview.

Right in the very well known “10 Commandments”, we see a priority verse that instructs while its commanding us to honor our parents. This is how we have LIFE. Jesus brings all of this into the New Testament and gives amazing instruction on what this looks like (another topic, another day) and He tells us that He came for us to have LIFE, abundant, lavish, overflowing life. It all comes by His way, His truth, and His life.

I am so grateful to have parents that disciplined and trained me up so I was fully prepared for life and ministry life. I’m ever in awe of the incredible way they trained me. My education just continues to unfold what they meant when they would tell me to do something or expect me to be a certain way. It was always for my GOOD.

My failures are not because they didn’t train me well. My successes all go back to essentials they taught me through discipline, the rod of reproof, and correction. I am so grateful for the tough work they put in to prepare me to be a mighty warrior!

Now, we have several generations of undisciplined, disrespectful, untrained, rebellious, and unprepared. We have generations that THINK they can carry a part of godliness but drop the rest. We have generations who think THEY determine the way, the truth, and the life they want to live. We have generations clamoring for answers today and they have no idea where to go. This was first taught by the errors of parents who walked away from God’s way, God’s design and decided to either trust the parenting ideas of a culture in defiance to God or they did not watch well to the ways of their households.

First, we repent for not teaching and training our children up in THE WAY they should go. We repent for any ways we did not correct them. We repent for any ways we adopted from the world that got in the way of what we did well. We repent for generations before us that did the same. We step into full counsel of the Word so we can correct this, beginning with our homes and our spheres of influence and then to the utter ends of the earth.

Secondly, we take responsibility and publicly step up to teach and train and correct. I begin. I’m called to be a spiritual mother to this generation. I step forward.

Few honored the discipline of their parents or discipline their children. Few honor the “rules” without having to know “why”. Few trust authority and will just obey without knowing what’s going on. This goes back to several generations of poor parenting and parenting without a standard from the Word of God. What can we expect? Now that this social experiment has utterly failed, it’s our only option to get back to the Word of God. OUR ONLY OPTION.

Understand what I’m saying.

I am not saying our governments are perfect. I am not saying to make them our god or our provision. We serve One True living God. We are a peculiar people, an alien people. We are part of the kingdom of God. We only have dual citizenship here on earth. However, we DO have dual citizenship here on earth.
As a result, we are called to be a part, have a voice, and honor our leaders.

Don’t like them? Elections are on the horizon, you have a voice. Get out and help your favorites campaign. Run yourself! Let them know what you want ;not behind their backs on social media). Vote with that voice. THEN, honor those placed before you.

Today…honor those in leadership. If your representative is one trying to use this crisis to destroy our country (and some are!), you need to get off social media and make a phone call, write a stern letter telling them what you expect from this, and let your voice be heard appropriately. If your leader is doing well, you need to get off social media and get on your knees praying for them and then write them, call them and let them know they are doing well. Whatever you do, stop any disrespect of our leaders. Dare to be intolerant of any more of this disrespect. Behave. Use your voice in a godly way. It’s time to stop it.

While the government bows its knees to God, it is also established to protect and serve our best interest. Today after we have used our voices appropriately, we must sit still, honor, rest, and trust. We will have breakthrough. It’s on the horizon!
