Well, for you guys it looks like it is mid-afternoon! 🙂
Harold and I had a delightful trip getting here for the World Field Target Match. He is here representing America. (Go Harold–SMOKE EM!) It is simply stunning here!  It is beautiful in a simple, “old world” kind of way. The architecture and decor is so unbelievable. I can’t wait to get to tour some of the special places here. And, yes! A castle is on my TO DO list! Planning to experience one of the biggies on my “Bucket List.” Well, that will be the second–Italy was on there too! 🙂
I can see the beginning of fall here. It is the perfect time for us to be able to see the best of both seasons. That is funny since the topic of “seasons” has been on my heart so much lately–well, more on that later this week here on my blog.
Everything here is so “thought-out.” The little details here are obviously done with love and attention. I am taking GOBS of pics so I can really capture as much of this experience as possible. Â Of course, Â in seeing these sweet little details in every crook-and-cranny (as my mom would say), I have been thinking about how much the little things DO matter. First, they matter for those who DO THEM. So often, we think that no one will “get it” or enjoy it like we want for them to enjoy it. Sitting here in such a sweet, thought-out spot, I see that it IS worth the effort. I am SO inspired to go home and create some new “spots” to regularly get away. It is SO refreshing. I think I could use a “holiday” regularly in my own little spots. Those little touches would make things sooooo delightful.
The other thing I am thinking about is how easy it is to get soooo  wrapped up in the busyness of life that we don’t really soak in the beauty and sweet touches that so many people do just to bless us. I am here, without my cell phone and with very limited internet. Now, back home, I have my iPhone, iPad, and computer with internet just about everywhere I go. I am really wondering how much those “conveniences” contribute to the stress of everyday living. It is nice to be here, giving myself permission to unplug and really connect with God, Harold, and others (including all of my new Italian, English, and Norwegian friends). Of course, do we really have to go to Italy to do that? Hummmm…..
When we got here for Harold to “sight-in” his gun for the match, I could not believe my eyes when I realized that I am sitting under grape-vines. The weather is just perfect to be right here. My plans? Since I have spent the last four hours taking pics of everything–probably making the locals wonder about my “American-sanity”–I am now going to just sit down with my FIVE Bibles on my iPad and my nice, cold Coca-Cola (sorry about indulging in the caffeine, but I am feeling rather sleep deprived! ha!). I think that a nice quiet time here is just exactly what one should travel around the world and indulge in. Soooo….more later! God is calling!
With much love,Cindy…who is just LOVING Italy!
