We had an amazing weekend last weekend. I just MUST spill!
We had the kids home for the weekend. Most of you know that I have an empty nest–well, except for beloved puppy dogs who are promising me that they will not ever, ever grow up! 😀
It is SUCH a treat to have the kids home and around. I love making memories. This weekend, we made a memory that I don’t think ANY of us will ever forget: Matthew proposed to Whitney. It was one of my most precious memories ever!
I think it is better for you guys to “join” us by video to “be there” with us. How about it? Well, here we go…
Matthew planned to take Whitney to the 360 Grille for the Proposal. It all began at the bottom of the Grille….
The first video. We were getting ready to ride the elevator up to the 360 Grill. NOTE: Whitney has NO IDEA that this is the proposal dinner. I LOVE IT!
The Proposal Dinner from the 360 Grill. Whitney has NO idea what is up. It is a GORGEOUS dinner. We got there in time to enjoy the daytime view, then the sun set. It was an amazing night up there–we got to see the 4th of July fireworks all around the Tennessee Valley. AMAZING!
Now! The video we have all been waiting for! ♥ The proposal! It speaks for itself. Soooo sweet! Just in case you wonder–Matthew also tells Whitney the story of how he had the ring made just for her. I love it! Sweet, sweet moment!
Want to peek at Matthew’s other sweet surprise? Oh! THIS is soooo romantic! He hired a horse drawn carriage for a pleasant stroll through historic Florence. Talk about a PERFECT evening. Imagine a pleasant temp (nice around here), fireworks going off around the gorgeous city, and his sweet new fiance’ by his side. A sweet moment. AND, we even snuck in and got video of them stopping at the UNA fountain. A perfect ending for a perfect 4th of July!
Now…COUNTING DOWN until the beautiful fall wedding! This is a fun, fun season of our lives! I promise to keep you updated all along the way!

I’m so confused! I thought they were already engaged?
That’s very sweet though, and so wonderful that you are so happy for them. I think you’ll make a great mom-in-law!
blessings!
