It’s Fall! Do you eat by the seasons? With me, there is something about each season that brings “cravings” for certain foods and goodies. Relate? Oh! I do it EVERY season. Winter–I MUST have soups. Spring–I MUST have fruit in every salad that I eat. 🙂 Summer–I want fresh veges from the garden in every meal possible. Fall–well, I have a list! ha! ha! Caramel and apples are pretty much all throughout the list. Imagine them together! YES! That is our recipe of the day. Sweet friend, give this one a try. You will LOVE IT! So versatile that I believe it will become a family favorite! 🙂 ENJOY!
–What You Need:
4 medium apples
1 c apple juice
8 oz. caramel candies
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
How to Make It:
Peel, core, quarter, and cut each apple into 20 wedges; set aside. Combine apple juice, unwrapped caramel candies, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon. Place this mixture in crockpot. Drop peanut butter, 1 tsp at a time, over ingredients in crock-pot and stir. Add apple wedges; cover and cook on LOW for 5 hrs. Stir thoroughly, and then cook 1 hr more. Serve approximately 1/3 cup of warm mixture over a slice of angel food cake or ice cream. ——
