I am happy to pray with you.
I am preparing right now for our upcoming seminar A CRASH COURSE ON SPIRITUAL WARFARE. To give you a little help now, here are a few things to remember when the enemy attacks:
1. KNOW YOUR ENEMY. Your enemy is not your husband…your children…your mother-in-law…your preacher…your friends…OR GOD! Satan is your enemy. Know who your enemy is and how to swing back at him. Know who your enemy is so you can know his tactics and how to defeat him. 🙂
2. KNOW WHO YOU ARE. This is crucial. If you are not fully aware of who you are, you will handle warfare very, very different than when you know exactly who you are and what is yours. At salvation, we are given sooo much more than just a “fire-insurance” policy that gets us out of hell. At salvation, we enter into covenant with God. All of His promises become ours. All of His riches become ours. All of His spiritual armor becomes ours. We become WHO HE SAYS WE ARE. We are no longer “a sinner” or held under the curse. We become VICTORS, OVERCOMERS, MORE THAN CONQUERORS. Soak that in. You will have battles with the enemy, but your outcomes change. When you battle with God at your side, you always win. You no longer live a defeated life. Everything changes. KNOW who you are!
3. KNOW YOUR WEAPONS. My son is in the military. He said that as soon as they entered into bootcamp, they were issued their uniforms and their equipment. Training meant two major things–they were getting accustomed to wearing the uniform in all situations (eating, leisure, being smoked (that is extreme discipline–kinda like when you are under attack), working out, learning lessons, chores, etc–ALL THE TIME) and they were learning how to use their equipment and weapons as a habit (natural reaction). Christians have their weapons, but most put them on the shelf and just struggle through every day life. They don’t want to “bother” God. They don’t think it is “nice” or “godly” to fight (and some fights ARE NOT nice or godly–only the good fight). They think that if they just let things go, they will go away (and there is a difference in letting things go and letting go). Sweet friend, you have EVERYTHING you need today at your fingertips. All you need is to KNOW YOUR WEAPONS so you can use them! What weapons? What could help?
- Worship–Turn everything else off. Put on your praise and worship music–the really good stuff. I either put it on my iPod or I put it on LOUD in my Tahoe or I put it on my computer using my headset. I want it directly pouring into my head. Why? You can’t think TWO THINGS at the same time. If the enemy is raging, the best thing you can do is get your mind to worshipping and soaking in truth, hope, answers. Also, Scripture says that if we resist the enemy, he will flee. Let me mention that worship is a wonderful way to resist the enemy. For one thing, he cannot inhabit the praise of God. Run him away! PRAISE! WORSHIP! LIFT UP YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER! Magnify your Abba Papa!
- Work the Word–Get in the Bible. Get God’s Word for you and your situation. SPEAK IT! Every time that the enemy comes to assail you, pop him with the Word. Let me explain how this happens. For example, I have battled this year with the enemy trying to get me to worry about my son. He is in some very tough and dangerous training. The enemy has outright spoken that he would die. Well, that is NOT TRUTH. The devil is a liar. So, what IS truth? The Word of God is truth. It is more reality than today’s newspaper. So, when God gave me Psalm 91 to pray over Matthew each day. My promise, my truth, is that Matthew is sheltered by God, not even ONE STONE will trip him up because God has encircled him with angels who are charged by God to protect his very life, AND he WILL, SHALL, have long life!!! Hallelujah! That not only settles my mind, but I can throw that one back at the enemy. That is like throwing back a grenade…oh, except that is NUCLEAR with the devil! He has to flee!!! Get in the Word. Don’t try to get the Word from a friend. It will not help you to stand strong. Get in the Word and stay there until your attack is over. Trust the Word. Live out the Word. Let the Word strengthen you, direct you, protect you, and empower you to defeat the enemy! Work the Word! It is POWERFUL! [/li]There are many other weapons–prayer, faith, etc. I will talk more about them in the seminar. But, for now, put on your armor. Grab your weapons. This is a battle that you can and WILL win!
Sweet friend, I am going to be underquirding you in prayer. You are not alone. God has given you the Body of Christ. You are part of a family now. Your family is an army. You do not have to go through ANYTHING alone. We will hold your arms up when you are tired and weary. This battle will end in victory!
Love ya!
Cindy
